The story
Born into music.
Karem was born in Nazareth in 1977 into a home full of music. His father, Joseph Matar, is a celebrated singer of the Arab and Middle Eastern stage; his mother is a music educator.
He started piano and music theory at seven, wrote his first piano piece at ten, and studied with leading teachers until 24 — adding sound engineering so he could run his own studio. That studio is K Sound.
His music blends Middle Eastern tradition with classical writing: ancient instruments from the Arab world, North Africa, Turkey, the Balkans, Armenia, Central Asia, India and Persia, woven into Western orchestral and modern sound. For Karem, music is a spiritual formula — free of rules, judged only by what it makes you feel.
